QA Automation Engineer

This role is based in our Solna headquarters in Stockholm and reports to the Engineering Manager.

Role overview

Paligo is looking for a QA Automation Engineer to play a central role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. At its core, this role is about quality control; it’s about designing the frameworks and strategies that allow us to scale with confidence.

This is a hands-on role where you will design, implement, and execute effective testing strategies. You won’t just follow a script, you will collaborate closely with Developers, Product Management, and stakeholders to define what quality looks like at Paligo. Whether you are building automated frameworks from scratch or performing manual deep-dives, you find energy in the "hunt" for hidden issues and the satisfaction of a seamless release.

Key responsibilities

• Strategy & Implementation: Design and implement both manual and automated test strategies to secure quality throughout the entire development cycle.

• Framework Development: Build, enhance, and maintain automated testing frameworks from the ground up, with a heavy focus on end-to-end (E2E) testing.

• Efficiency & Tooling: Utilize modern testing tools (like Playwright) and methodologies to maximize test efficiency and coverage.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with developers and product managers to identify potential risks early and ensure high-quality, timely releases.

• Bug Advocacy: Identify, document, and track bugs to resolution, acting as the final gatekeeper for the user experience.

• Continuous Improvement: Evaluate internal QA processes and incorporate feedback to continuously sharpen our workflows and output performance.

What you bring

Must-haves

• The QA Mindset: A curious, innovative, and detail-oriented approach. You have a knack for finding the "edge cases" others miss.

• Experience: 3+ years in software quality assurance within a software development environment (preferably B2B SaaS/Cloud).

• Technical Proficiency: Proven experience developing automated test frameworks and strong familiarity with general web technologies.

• Tooling Expertise: Deep knowledge of QA methodologies and tools like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.

• Communication: Native or professional fluency in English with the ability to collaborate across functions and cultures.

• Agentic Development Familiarity: A solid understanding of agentic development workflows, including experience (or strong interest) in how AI agents can be leveraged to assist in code generation, test maintenance, or autonomous bug discovery.

Nice-to-haves

• Working proficiency in Swedish.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing into the deployment flow.

What you’ll focus on:

• E2E Automation Coverage: Driving the expansion of end-to-end automated test coverage across both legacy features and new releases, ensuring critical user paths are consistently validated.

• Stability: Reduction in production incidents and bugs related to insufficient testing.

• QA Cycle Efficiency: Optimizing the speed and effectiveness of quality assurance within the sprint, ensuring that the testing phase accelerates rather than hinders the release of new features.

• Process Evolution: Tangible improvements in testing efficiency and the scaling of QA workflows.
